Gas fire extinguishing cylinders and batteries MGP and B-MGP “ATAKA” are designed for storage and release of gas fire extinguishing substance (GFES) into the protected premise - for extinguishing fires of classes A, B, C in accordance with GOST 27331 and electrical equipment that is energized by 3D and local method. Cylinders and batteries are used for fire protection of premises and technological equipment as part of gas fire extinguishing installations.
Cylinders, depending on the pressure, are made of the following types: MGP 60, MGP 65, MGP 150 and MGPi 150.
The batteries, depending on the pressure, are made of the following types: B2...10 MGP 60, B2...10 MGP 65, B2...10 MGP 150 and B2...10 MGPi 150.
Gas fire extinguishing substance (GFES), which can be used in modules and batteries, are listed in the table below.

Technical gaseous nitrogen as per GOST 9293 is used as a propellant for refrigerants.
The cylinders are equipped with a locking-starting device (LSD).
How to start the cylinder:
a) Electrically and manually. The initiating elements are electromagnet and handle, respectively. The symbol is E;
b) Pneumatically. The symbol is P.
LSD is provided with a membrane safety device (MSD) and blocking of the manual starting element (check).
The starting pulse of the module with electrical and manual start shall comply with the following characteristics:
Voltage: 22 - 26 V
Current: 0.7 - 0.9 A
Supply time: at least 0.5 sec
Manual start force from 3 to 10 kg.
Cylinders and batteries are designed for operation in climatic conditions no worse than УХЛ2 and TB4 for an atmosphere of type II and III according to GOST 15150, but in the temperature range from minus 40°С to 55°С.
To control and measure pressure in the module, it is provided with a pressure gauge. For general industrial performance, general technical and electrocontact deformation pressure gauges are installed. For explosive atmospheres, pressure gauges are selected according to the degree of explosion protection.
The degree of protection of electrical equipment from external influences according to GOST 14254:
- for general industrial use - IP 33 (except for facilities of ‘Transneft”, JSC), IP 54 or IP 65;
- for explosion-proof configuration IP 65.
The modules comply with the requirements of GOST 30546.1,2,3-98, NP-031-01, PNAEG-7-002-86 in terms of seismic resistance under seismic effects with an intensity of 8 scores (on MSK-64 scale), mark +30.0 m (certification protocol for seismic resistance 23-12-15, “SeismEnergoProekt” SC).
The modules MGP 65-100-50, MGP 65-80-50, MGP 65-100-32, MGP 65-80-32, MGP 65-60-32, refer to the 1st seismic resistance category according to NP-031-01, requirements of GOST 30546.1 , 2,3-98, GOST 16962.2-90, NP-064-05, PNAEG-7-002-86 regarding seismic resistance under seismic impacts with an intensity of 9 points (on MSK-64 scale), mark +30.0 m (certification protocol for seismic resistance 6-03-14, “ATOMTECHENERGOSERVICE” CJSC).
Work resource before overhaul - at least 10 triggerings.
Service life - 30 years with a warranty period for 9 years operation.
The recharged cylinders shall be placed at least 1 meter away from radiators and other heating appliances, and from furnaces and other heat sources with an open flame at distance of at least 10 meters, and in places where the temperature does not exceed 55°С.
The cylinder shall be rigidly fixed with clamps to fixed building structures providing free access to them for operation and maintenance.
LSD design provides the ability to replace the pressure gauge and pressure switch.
The frequency of calibration of the pressure gauge - once a year.
Frequency of the cylinder inspection – every 10 years.
Check integrity of the electric circuit of electromagnet at current of not more than 0.1 A
